Persimmons originated in China. The fruit grow on a deciduous tree which can grow up to 10 metres. Green leaves, lighter on the underside, turn orange in autumn. The fruit is visible in summer but does not mature until autumn. The plants are frost-hardy once established. Seed must be chilled 9 weeks before sowing.
