Comfrey is one of the plants most associated with Permaculture. It has deep roots that can bring up minerals from deep in the soil. Its roots are thick are can be used as a weed barrier. The leaves are full of protein and can be used medicinally. IT is a classic “chop and drop” plant in permaculture gardens.
