Hardenbergia is an evergreen Australian native climbing plant. Needs fence or trellis for support. It is moderately vigorous. Can also be grown as a groundcover but will climb anything in its path. Drought and frost resistant. Pea-shaped flowers. Nitrogen fixing plant if necessary rhizobia are present in soil. Seed must be scraped on concrete then soaked for 24 hours before being sown in sandy soil. Soil temperature must be above 21°C.
